Removal & Installation Guide

There are two method of removing the Door Bellows

Method 1 - Compressed air

Tuttnauer Door Bellows Removal
  1. Remove the Brass Housing Bolt from the Door
  2. Locate the hole on the face of the Door that leads to the bellows cavity
  3. Block the opening in the side of the Door where the Housing Bolt was removed with a thick book or block of wood. Care should be taken because the Bellows Assembly will be projected with a great deal of force when using compressed air
  4. Apply air pressure to the hole on the face of the Door The air pressure will blow the Bellows Assembly out of the cavity
  5. Check that the bellows gasket has been removed from the bellows cavity, if not reach into the door with a long thin screwdriver and remove the gasket.
  6. Remove the old bellows from the brass housing

Method 2 - Extraction

  1. Remove the Brass Housing Bolt from the Door
  2. Remove the steel locking pin
  3. Using the Bellows Extraction Tool Part #TUB036-8729 or a 4 inch long drywall screw insert the tool or screw into the bellows assembly until the brass bushing is reached.
  4. Thread the tool or screw into the center hole of the brass bushing one or two turns or until the threads have locked on to the bushing.
  5. Using the tool or screw remove the Bellows Assembly from the Door
  6. Check that the bellows gasket has been removed from the Door, if not reach into the door with the tool or screw and remove the gasket.
  7. Remove the old bellows from the Brass Housing

Tuttnauer Door Bellows Installation

  1. Insert the new Bellows Kit into the Brass Housing
  2. Install the Brass Housing Bolt on to the front of the Housing
  3. Insert the assembly into the Door
  4. Tighten down the Housing Bolt, it needs only to be snug.
