NAPCO 8000DSE Autoclave Troubleshooting



Problem Procedure
No Power
Temperature Light Out
Autoclave Does Not Heat
  1. Check Plug, Outlet & Circuit Breaker
  2. Check Fuses
  3. Check Switches
  4. Check Timer
Steam Pressure Is Lost
Water Boils Our Before Sterilization Is Achieved
  1. Check Water Level At Start Of Each Cycle
  2. Check For Water Leaks In Tubing & Fittings
  3. Check Purge Systems
  4. Re-calibration Of Sensor Is Advised For Operation At High Elevations
Temperature Light Fails To Illuminate, Autoclave Heats Normally Check Temperature Light
Time Light Fails To Illuminate Check Timer Light
Autoclave Does Not Heat
Time Light Illuminated - Temperature Light Out
  1. Check Low Water Cut Off Switch
  2. Check Dryer Switch
  3. Check Autoclave Temperature Control
Autoclave Does Not Heat
Temperature Light Illuminated 		Check Heating Element
Autoclaving Temperature Control Cannot Be Achieved Or Maintained
Pressure Gauge Has A Pressure Reading
  1. Check Autoclave Temperature Control
  2. Check Calibration Adjustments
Autoclave Temperature Control Cannot Reach Maximum Or Minimum Limits
(121°C to 132°C)(  +3°C) By Turning Knob 		Check Calibration Adjustment For Temperature Control
Temperature Fluctuations of 4°C Or More Detected On Temperature Gauge At Preset Autoclaving Temperature
  1. Check Gauges
  2. Check Autoclave Temperature Control
    Note: 10 Minutes Should Be Allowed Between Shutdown & Restart
Timer Does Not Function Properly
Time Light Is Illuminated 		Check Timer
Drying Element Does Not Heat
Time Light Illuminated
Dryer Light Illuminated
Temperature Light Out
  1. Check Dryer Temperature Control
  2. Check Drying Element
Fan Motor Does Not Run
8000DSE Only		 Autoclave Must Be In Slow Exhaust Function
Autoclave Runs Out Of Water
Autoclave Fails To Shut Off At Excessive Temperature Resulting In Heat Damage		 Check Low Water Cut Off Switch
Autoclave Temperature Control Failure (Excessive Heating)
Pressure Is Relieved At Safety Pressure Of 35psi ( + 3psi 		Check Autoclave Temperature Control
