SECTION 5 -2 VALIDATOR PLUS TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES - DIAGNOSTICS II. SELF-DIAGNOSTICS CHECK To run self check, simply turn on switch at back of unit, or depress Power and CLR/START at the same time. The latter operation does NOT check "lb" for low battery.
III. PRINTER (DIAGNOSTIC MODE) The printer may be used as a diagnostic tool. Cycles recorded in the Validator Plus' memory may be dumped out to the printer starting with the last cycle first. Press and Hold the printer button to load the memory. Ti stop the download process, depress "CLR/START" (Eight lines are printed our per run cycle).
SELF DIAGNOSTICS
|
CHECK DISPLAY | COMPONENTS CHECKED | OPERATIONAL FUNCTION CHECKED |
S-1 | Fill/Vent Solenoid | Solenoid operation and electrical continuity. During fill, microprocessor senses that the Fill Solenoid driver is not activating or that the connection to this solenoid is broken |
S-2 | Dump Solenoid | Solenoid operation and electrical continuity |
S-3- | Bellows Solenoid | Solenoid operation and electrical continuity |
S-4 | Voltage Switch Relay | Microprocessor senses that the relay, which switches the heating elements from 120-volt operation to 240-volt operation, is not being activated |
SS-1 | Steam Sensor | Electrical continuity and parameter check |
SS-2 | Surface Sensor | Electrical continuity |
SS-3 | Steam Sensor | Steam sensor defective |
lb | Battery | Parameter memory for special mode (e.g., clock settings) |
P-1 | Pressure Transducer | Nominal operating parameter. Checks operation of pressure transducer circuit |
