Reclaiming The Statim Boiler Made Simple
How To Reclaim
The Statim 2000 Boiler
DO NOT RECLAIM BOILERS ON STATIMS THAT CONTAIN A WATER QUALITY SENSOR
This Procedure Does Not Apply To Statims That Have A Water Quality Sensor
You will need the following to complete the procedure:
A Screwdriver to remove the cover
½" Wrench (or Adjustable Wrench) To Remove The Pressure Relief Valve
Teflon Tape
A Jumper Wire (a piece of wire with "alligator" clips on each end)
1 Ounce Of CLR (available almost everywhere)
Optional:
Like the Boiler Reclaimation Procedure, The most challenging part of this procedure is working within the limitations imposed by the short cable length on the cover. You just cannot go anywhere with the cover when you take it off.
The two cables connected to the cover must remain plugged in while you perform the operation
To simply this, we offer an
extension cable
(it gives you an additional 25" of cable & is what the pros use). This allows you to set the cover off to the side and perform all of the funtions needed. It is a must have!
Remove the Pressure Relief Valve from the top of the boiler
Pour 1 oz. of CLR into the boiler through the Pressure Relief Valve opening
Reinstall the Pressure Relief Valve using Teflon tape on the threads
With the cassette inserted start an unwrapped cycle.
As soon as you hear the pump start to run press
STOP
Allow the solution to work for 15 minutes
Check that the reservoir is filled with good distilled water and the condenser bottle is not full.
After 15 minutes have passed, start an unwrapped cycle while simultaneously activating the pump.
You may operate the pump by shorting pins #16 & #18 on the 20 pin connector on the PC Board using a jumper or screwdriver (be careful not to touch any other pins)
Or you can use the tool The Statim Professionals Use,
The Statim Start Switch
(The
Statim Start Switch
Makes This Procedure Safe And Easy)
As long as the pins are shorted the pump will run continuously and flush the remaining deposits out of the boiler.
Allow the pump to run for 3 minutes minimum.
Press
STOP
then start a normal unwrapped cycle.
IMPORTANT
You can verify that the boiler contamination problem has been corrected by confirming that the pressure information (xxxKpA) appears on the display within ten seconds after the beginning of the sterilization phase of a cycle.
Reclamation Of The Boiler Is Complete
