How To Test The Tuttnauer Water Fill Electrode

To Test the Tuttnauer Water Fill Electrode, you will need an ohmmeter

This test is simply a test for continuity. Set your ohmmeter to 20k within the Resistance Range (Look for the Omega Symbol " Ω ")

  1. Push up the insulation blanket at the rear of the Chamber
  2. Locate the back end of the Electrode
  3. Remove the small green wire connected to the Electrode
  4. Connect an ohmmeter probes (one to the tab of the Electrode and the other to the Chassis (It does not matter which color probe goes where)
  5. With no water in the Chamber, the meter will show an open circuit
    • If you have a digital ohmmeter, it should display the number "1"
    • If you have an analog ohmmeter, the needle should go all the way to the left
  6. If the meter shows any continuity then there is a problem with the Electrode and it should be replaced.
    • If you have a digital ohmmeter, continuity is indicated by the number "0" on your display
    • If you have an analog ohmmeter. continuity is indicated by the needle going all the way to the right (approaching "0")
