How To Test The Tuttnauer Water Fill Electrode
To Test the Tuttnauer Water Fill Electrode, you will need an ohmmeter
This test is simply a test for continuity. Set your ohmmeter to 20k within the Resistance Range (Look for the Omega Symbol " Ω ")
- Push up the insulation blanket at the rear of the Chamber
- Locate the back end of the Electrode
- Remove the small green wire connected to the Electrode
- Connect an ohmmeter probes (one to the tab of the Electrode and the other to the Chassis (It does not matter which color probe goes where)
- With no water in the Chamber, the meter will show an open circuit
- If you have a digital ohmmeter, it should display the number "1"
- If you have an analog ohmmeter, the needle should go all the way to the left
- If the meter shows any continuity then there is a problem with the Electrode and it should be replaced.
- If you have a digital ohmmeter, continuity is indicated by the number "0" on your display
- If you have an analog ohmmeter. continuity is indicated by the needle going all the way to the right (approaching "0")
